RingCentral announces new hardware partnerships

Cloud communications and collaboration provider RingCentral has expanded its hardware ecosystem and introduced new features for its RingCentral Rooms videoconferencing suite.

The platform will be augmented with new innovations through RingCentral’s new partnerships with touch-enabled interactive display company Avocor, personal sound and office solution provider Jabra and audio brand EPOS.

Through the partnerships, RingCentral Rooms customers will be able to harness new capabilities including digital whiteboarding and on-screen annotation, premium audio technologies designed to support the brain’s natural way of processing sound and an advanced onboard AI for improving the video experience.

Other new features added to the platform include support for sharing content from a user’s mobile device, support for end-to-end encryption, closed captioning and the ability to allow end users to access Rooms with an activation code rather than needing admin credentials to register each new conference room.

RingCentral also has hardware partnerships with Logitech, Poly and Yealink. The company’s Chief Innovation Officer, Kira Makagon, said strong relationships with strategic hardware partners are important to the development of the platform.

“We are excited to work with innovative partners like Avocor, EPOS and Jabra,” she said. “When paired with our partners’ advanced hardware offerings, RingCentral Rooms can unlock the full potential of today’s hybrid workforce and enable equitable collaboration for workers wherever they are.”

Recent research from CBRE found that 84% of APAC respondents are planning to invest in establishing a collaborative space for unscheduled catch-ups and 56% in an enclosed or soundproof space for individuals to take video calls.
