HP and Microsoft cloud-based collaboration services

Monday, 12 December, 2011

HP and Microsoft have announced a four-year initiative to deliver Microsoft’s communications and collaboration applications via global private and public cloud services.

The partnership aims to support enterprises and government, with a range of cloud-based communications and collaboration solutions.

Private cloud solutions feature HP’s Enterprise Cloud Services-Messaging, Enterprise Cloud Services-Collaboration and Enterprise Cloud Services-Real-Time Collaboration to deliver Microsoft’s Exchange Server 2010, SharePoint Server 2010 and Lync Server 2010 productivity applications as a service from HP data centres around the world.

Public cloud solutions feature Microsoft’s Office 365 and Office collaboration and productivity tools that will be delivered via the cloud.

In a hybrid solution, HP will resell Office 365 with it’s own Enterprise Cloud Services-Messaging, Enterprise Cloud Services-Collaboration and Enterprise Cloud Services-Real-Time Collaboration.

HP and Microsoft engineering resources will collaborate to deploy, support and enhance the solutions.
