Australian Data Centres opens CSOC in Canberra

Australian Data Centres has teamed up with Australian security company Aegis9 to launch a cutting-edge cybersecurity operation centre in Canberra.

The new facility will be developed and managed by Aegis9 within a Zone 4 accredited floor space within Australian Data Centres’ secure data centre facility in the city.

The manned SOC will constantly monitor a customer’s cloud and on-premise environments as well as the clear and Dark Web for customer information.

Experts will also monitor the global threat landscape and enable correlation between multiple cloud provider environments and on-premise networks for a single customer.

With the partnership, Australian Data Centres will be able to offer analysis of cyber maturity and compliance through the provision of cyclical IRAP and Hosting Certification Framework assessments, as well penetration testing to all customers as standard.

Managing Director Rob Kelly said this will allow the company to address the findings of the parliamentary inquiry into cyber resilience and better service customers including government and critical infrastructure providers.

“Security is paramount to our customers and our offering includes both a Cyber Security Operations Centre and a customer-focused security accreditation and governance framework adaptable to the government’s security framework that is consistent with existing policies and procedures,” he said.

“An ongoing security management program with cyclical compliance, assurance and accreditation activities, such as penetration testing and IRAP assessments, will be implemented to give ongoing confidence that our hybrid and multi-cloud solution, and the systems it hosts, remain secure.”
