B&R Enclosures adopts PaaS solution
Victoria-based electrical enclosures company B&R Enclosures has adopted Schneider Electric’s Secure-Power-as-a-Service solution to modernise its power infrastructure and reduce operational risk.
By adopting the solution, B&R Enclosures is transitioning to an operational expenditure-based model, shifting away from the traditional capital expenditure approach.
The company has introduced a 24/7 monitored, lifecycle-managed infrastructure to reduce downtime risks and improve cash flow for Australian customers.
As part of the agreement, Schneider Electric will take operational responsibility for the full lifecycle of B&R Enclosures’ uninterruptible power supply infrastructure, including monitoring, maintenance and lifecycle management.
B&R Enclosures co-CEO Ben Bridges said partnering with Schneider Electric is allowing the company to modernise its infrastructure while removing the operational complexity of managing critical power systems internally. The solution can automatically initiate a graceful shutdown of servers and virtual machines during power outages, protecting critical systems and data.
“The SPaaS model not only provides greater financial flexibility by shifting from CapEx to OpEx, but by aligning costs with usage, it helps us manage cash flow more effectively and ensures that our systems are resilient and future-ready,” Bridges said.
Schneider Electric VP for Services and Safety Segaran Narayanan said B&R Enclosures’ decision to adopt the solution demonstrates how Australian businesses are rethinking infrastructure management for the digital era.
“By moving from a CapEx to an OpEx approach, they gain financial agility while ensuring their operations are safeguarded against disruption,” he said. “At Schneider Electric, we’re committed to delivering outcomes-driven solutions that not only reduce complexity and risk, but also provide the scalability and resilience needed to support our customers’ long-term growth.”
