Bite-sized learning

A series of bite-sized lessons to help Australian teachers explain fundamental maths, literacy and science skills is now available online at the ABC Education website.

The 10-minute lessons are suitable for years F–4 and cover a range of topics including decoding unfamiliar words using onset and rhyme, developing inference skills and how to ask questions to help identify information. Maths topics include partitioning numbers, calculating change using vertical subtraction and place values in the number system.

The videos clearly identify the class level target and provide engaging instruction and demonstration of concepts, with opportunity for online learners to practise at home.

The 10-minute lessons have been co-designed with teachers and produced with the support of Australian schools, the NSW Department of Education and the Department of Education and Training (Victoria).
