SAS appoints David Bowie as Australian and NZ Managing Director
SAS has appointed new Australian leadership, with David Bowie taking the role of Managing Director of the Australian and New Zealand division of the company.
Prior to the appointment, Bowie was previously the company’s marketing and services director, and has been with SAS since November 2002.
Before joining SAS, Bowie held positions at Dimension Data as General Manager; IBM as Regional Professional Services Director; and PricewaterhouseCoopers as an IT management consultant.
“David has been a key performer for the business over a number of years now, and promotion to his new role and responsibilities reflects our confidence that he will continue to excel,” said Mikael Hagstrom, Executive Vice President, SAS Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
Hagstrom said Bowie’s appointment reflects SAS’s intentions for “aggressive growth” in the ANZ markets.
Hagstrom said the company will increase investment in the region, including additional customer support staff, accelerated skills development for employees and the establishment of a Customer Advisory Council.
