CeBIT Australia to feature FutureTech Stage

The FutureTech Stage will be an event highlight at this year’s CeBIT Australia.

It will feature a host of the world’s most renowned industry experts on matters relating to the Internet of Things (IoT), fintech, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

Running alongside the Big Data and Analytics, Cloud, eGovernment and Cyber Security conferences will be three curated FutureTech agendas. Each will share insights into the cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of business and address opportunities and challenges Australian businesses currently face when adapting to technological advancements.

From the machine-to-machine economy, disruptions to banks and investment systems, the automation of traditional jobs and the misplaced fear of AI technologies, the FutureTech Stage will offer fresh perspectives and expert discussions over two days (15–16 May) of the three-day CeBIT Australia event.

Presenters include Professor Toby Walsh, author of Machines That Think: The Future of Artificial Intelligence and Professor of Artificial Intelligence, UNSW; Tommy Mermelshtayn, Chief Strategy Officer, zipMoney; Dr Fang Chen, Senior Principal Researcher, Data61 — CSIRO; and Dr Siamak Tafavogh, Lead Data Scientist, Coca-Cola Amatil.

NSW Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair said CeBIT Australia is now in its 17th year and continues to be at the forefront of innovation and technologies in Australia.

“The FutureTech Stage is another way CeBIT Australia is addressing the topics Australian businesses want to tackle,” he said.

“The NSW Government is committed to supporting innovation so it’s great to see these innovative additions to this year's program.”

Hannover Fairs Australia Managing Director Harvey Stockbridge said the FutureTech Stage brings new perspectives to the program, answering the most pressing questions about the changing landscapes, technologies and the future of jobs in Australia.

“CeBIT Australia is maximising the discussions and perspectives of industry experts throughout the program. The FutureTech Stage will play an integral role in examining what the future of our industry will look like, covering all aspects of technology that will have the most impact on organisations,” he said.

“These sessions are short snapshots yet deliver the most important information succinctly and in an understandable way. We have strived to get the best speakers from a multitude of companies, institutions and councils using advanced technology to demonstrate the way of the future.”

CeBIT Australia, the largest and longest-running business technology conference in the Asia Pacific, will take place 15–17 May 2018 at International Convention Centre Sydney, Darling Harbour.
