CommScope launches edge fibre offering

CommScope has launched a new line of fibre infrastructure products aimed at helping enterprise network providers support more devices and applications at the edge.

FiberREACH is designed to extend power and connectivity for networks capable of providing gigabit speeds at the edge of a network. It can provide up to 90 W of power to support power- and data-hungry edge devices up to 350 m away from a power source. A single power supply channel can support up to 32 simultaneous devices.

An evolution of CommScope’s Powered Fibre Cable System, the range meets all the requirements of Power over Ethernet standards. It uses a range of fibre types and copper gauges to provide customer-specific capabilities, and supports both passive and active optical network architectures.

CommScope has also launched CableGuide 360, a platform for helping providers properly organise and protect cables and patch cords. The solution is designed to speed up deployment and simplify cable management without the need for extensive product training or technical expertise.

The FibreREACH solution is available globally, while the CableGuide 360 solution is expected to launch by the end of August.

CommScope’s SVP and President for Connectivity & Cable Solutions, Koen ter Linde, said the new products have been designed to accommodate customer demand for extended-reach fibre solutions and a more reliable cable management platform.

“FiberREACH and the CableGuide 360 platform represents a step forward in the cabling, cabling management and connectivity that our customers need to push more power and data to the edge,” he said. “These solutions build on our unmatched end-to-end expertise and performance warranty offering, giving our customers one more reason to choose CommScope to extend their networks.”
