DTA appoints Gavin Slater as new CEO
The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has appointed former NAB executive Gavin Slater as its new CEO.
Slater will replace the DTA’s current interim CEO Nerida O’Loughlin from 1 May.
During his seven-year tenure as a member of the NAB group executive team, Slater drove the bank’s digital transformation agenda. He served in the roles of CFO, COO for the bank’s core business areas and group executive of personal banking.
Prior to joining NAB, Slater was a principal consultant at PwC in South Africa and Australia, and also served in various roles at South Africa’s ABSA Group bank and Standard Bank Group.
“Gavin has a proven track record in driving transformational change to respond to digital disruption. He well understands the challenges faced by government agencies as they seek to transform their own services to better meet the needs of users,” Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation Angus Taylor said.
“His experience will be invaluable as we move forward with whole-of-government improvements in digital delivery, a review of all major IT projects across government, as well as significant changes in the way we procure ICT services.”
“Making services simpler, faster and easier to use has been at the core of my leadership impact over many years,” Slater added.
“In support of the Prime Minister’s vision, I look forward to bringing my skills, experience and passion to the public sector as it looks to improve services to benefit all Australians.”
