New recruitment app streamlines hiring
A new recruitment app promises to streamline the hiring process for businesses and job seekers, particularly for blue-collar, casual or part-time roles. The Hunt app connects businesses and job seekers in any industry through machine learning- (ML) powered matchmaking technology, making hiring as simple as swipe, discover and match.
With businesses reporting that it takes anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks to fill the gap left by a previous employee, there is a real need for a solution that connects job seekers and businesses in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Hunt co-founder Natalie Cherry conceived the app after first-hand experience, spending long hours cycling through CVs when looking to recruit for her two businesses and realising there must be a more efficient and cost-effective way to find staff.
She worked alongside a team of app designers and developers to find a solution to recruitment challenges. The result is Hunt, an easy-to-use interface that seamlessly connects job seekers and small business owners, saving both parties countless hours.
“As a business owner myself, I frequently spend valuable time blindly screening candidates’ emails or sifting through paper resumes, often with limited success as it is really hard to determine if a candidate could be the right fit based on a paper CV,” Cherry said.
“With Hunt, we hope to propel the job market and the economy forward by making recruitment an intuitive and user-friendly process for both parties.”
On the Hunt app, job seekers and employers have complete visibility over each other’s attributes, values and requirements. Job seekers create a visual profile to share their background, experience, location and job preferences. Video CVs and portfolio attachments also allow the job seeker to showcase their personality within their profile.
Businesses are able to upload job postings with details about the role, the company and the salary. The app’s sophisticated ML technology then matches these job seekers to potential employers who can chat within the app itself to find out more about the role, or set up an interview. The technology only matches job seekers who meet the necessary criteria for the role, saving countless hours and money spent on online job advertisements and recruiters.
“Hiring the right staff is the biggest challenge we face as a small business,” said Cassie Banks, part of the family-owned Noosa-based restaurant Bistro C.
“While experience certainly matters, paper resumes often don’t give us an accurate sense of a candidate’s personality — which is a huge factor in the hospitality industry. The Hunt app not only showcases personality, but it is the answer to an industry need for a quicker and more cost-efficient way to find talent.”
Hunt is free for job seekers while employers can enjoy a six-month free trial before moving to a tiered subscription model. It’s available from both the App Store and GooglePlay. For more info click here.
