Tenable launches AI Aware security solution
Tenable has introduced a new security solution for AI and large language models aimed at allowing organisations to deploy AI solutions with confidence.
Tenable says AI Aware provides exposure insight into AI applications, libraries and plugins to allow customers to gain visibility into and address AI risks. The solution leverages agents, passive network monitoring, application security testing and distributed scan engines to detect approved and unapproved AI software, libraries and browser plugins and their associated vulnerabilities.
The platform can provide dashboard views of the AI software discovered in an organisation’s environment, to allow users to identify the top assets with AI-related vulnerabilities and monitor the communication ports most commonly used by AI technologies.
Users can filter findings for AI detections to prioritise the most potentially impactful vulnerabilities, and the platform can provide a complete inventory of AI-related packages, libraries and browser plugins while reviewing the profile of an asset.
According to Tenable Chief Product Officer Shai Morag, the company’s research indicates that more than a third of security teams have found usage of AI applications in their environment that were not formally provisioned. The cybersecurity risk of unimpeded AI usage is compounded by the increasing volume of AI vulnerabilities, he said.
“In an effort to keep pace with the sea change introduced by AI, organisations around the world ran full speed ahead, potentially bypassing countless cybersecurity, privacy and compliance red flags,” Morag said. “Perhaps more so than with any other new technology we’ve seen, there are many risk factors to consider, especially with rushed development and deployment. Tenable AI Aware empowers organisations to deploy AI confidently, ensuring their security measures keep pace with the rapid evolution of AI technologies.”
