Akamai adds secure browser to ZTNA portfolio
Akamai has reached an agreement to add enterprise browser security company Seraphic Security’s secure enterprise browser capabilities to its portfolio of enterprise zero trust security products. The agreement is aimed at allowing Akamai to move beyond a security service edge (SSE) approach to network access by offering customers a security solution that suits both zero trust and SSE use cases.
By integrating the Seraphic browser with its Zero Trust Network Access product, the companies will be able to address enterprise demands for simple but secure access to private applications, SaaS platforms, and AI tools from any device and location, according to Akamai SVP and GM for Enterprise Security Ofer Wolf.
“With Seraphic, we’re able to go beyond the limits of legacy SSE,” he said. “By combining Seraphic’s enterprise secure browsing with our ZTNA solution we deliver a simpler way to secure apps, SaaS and AI tools on any device, without the heavy infrastructure and complexity of traditional proxies.”
As part of the partnership, users will be able to utilise Akamai’s global network, and take advantage of installation-free device posture checks, he said.
Customers and partners will be able to access both the combined solution as well as standalone components.
Seraphic CEO and Co-Founder Ilan Yesua said enterprises are realising that unmanaged browsers and risky AI tools create gaps traditional network security can’t cover.
“Partnering with Akamai allows us to extend secure browsing into a broader Zero Trust framework, ensuring organisations can adopt new technologies confidently while keeping users and data safe,” he said.
