Barracuda, Cybercert collaborate on cyber certification

Cybersecurity company Barracuda is collaborating with CyberCert to provide SMEs in Australia and New Zealand with a simplified cybersecurity compliance certification solution. The joint offering will provide an affordable path to compliance certification with SMB1001, an international cybersecurity certification standard for SMEs.

Managed service providers (MSPs) that have deployed the BarracudaONE platform will be able to achieve recognised SMB1001 compliance through the adoption of certified product packages. The certification will cover security capabilities including email security to address phishing, business email compromise and other scams, as well as network and remote access protection through firewall and secure access service edge options.

The collaboration will also cover data protection and recoverability solution as well as managed endpoint detection and response for companies requiring an additional layer of threat mitigation.

Barracuda Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands Dan McLean said the collaboration is aimed at streamlining how organisations buy and implement security products and processes.

“AI has lowered the barrier for cybercriminals to develop and automate advanced cyber attacks at scale,” he said. “SMBs are prime targets of these convincing and evasive threats. With the help of CyberCert we can offer our MSP partners SMB1001 certified product packages that give their customers peace of mind. Not only are their businesses protected, but they also meet the official security standards.”

CyberCert Co-Founder and CEO Ryan Ettridge added that the company’s aim is to make it easier for SMBs to achieve cybersecurity compliance in a constantly evolving threat landscape.

“Our collaboration with Barracuda does just that. By combining the broad protection of the BarracudaONE platform with globally accredited SMB1001 certification, MSPs will be able deliver true cyber resilience for their clients in a simple, cost-effective way,” he said.
