Barracuda launches vulnerability detection tool

Barracuda Networks has launched a new managed vulnerability security service powered by its global Security Operations Centre.

The fully managed service is an extension of the existing BarracudaONE AI-powered cybersecurity platform, and is designed to help organisations proactively uncover, assess and prioritise vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.

The company says the service combines expert-led vulnerability scanning, analysis and contextual reporting across a user’s networks and cloud infrastructure, and is also capable of discovering vulnerabilities across hardware including endpoints, servers, IoT devices, firewalls and other network-connected systems. Vulnerabilities can be discovered even if they are not associated with known exploits.

Users of the service receive actionable reports, including an audit summary and prioritised remediation plan. Barracuda says that use of the platform can help organisations comply with data privacy and security standards such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Barracuda VP of global security Adam Khan said proactively identifying vulnerabilities helps organisations better protect against the likelihood of an attack.

“Barracuda Managed Vulnerability Security delivers deep visibility into risks across environments — without the burden of managing additional tools or hiring hard to find and retain security operations specialists,” he said. “With expert guidance and smart prioritisation, it streamlines remediation and transforms how organisations manage vulnerabilities and defend against today’s sophisticated attacks.”
