Bitdefender launches endpoint security tool
Bitdefender has announced the Australian launch of GravityZone PHASR, the company’s pre-emptive endpoint security system, as a standalone solution.
GravityZone PHASR (Proactive Hardening and Attack Surface Reduction) combines behaviour-based security hardening with real-time threat intelligence, with the aim of proactively preventing ransomware and living-off-the-land attacks.
Bitdefender said the platform correlates user behaviour with live threat intelligence and known attack vectors to define the optimal security configuration for each individual on the corporate network. This helps reduce unnecessary alerts while helping security teams operate more independently, the company said.
The standalone version of the solution will enable customers to combine these capabilities with any existing endpoint protection or endpoint detection and response platforms they are currently using.
GravityZone PHASR is a product in Gartner’s recently defined category of dynamic attack surface reduction technologies, which the research firm defines as a pre-emptive AI-powered approach to address increasingly sophisticated AI driven threats. In a recent report, Gartner estimated that by 2030, 60% of large enterprises will use these technologies, up from less than 10% today.
Bitdefender Business Solutions Group GM Andrei Florescu said today’s businesses are facing a new generation of stealthy attacks that bypass traditional defences by exploiting trusted tools and applications already present in their environments.
“With PHASR now available as a standalone solution, we’re making our pioneering technology accessible to all organisations, giving security teams a pre-emptive, behaviour-driven defence that dramatically reduces risk without requiring changes to their existing security operations,” he said.
