DigiCert acquires Valimail to boost email security
Digital trust solutions provider DigiCert has acquired Valimail to bolster its email authentication capabilities.
Valimail is a provider of zero trust email authentication delivered as a service. The company has more than 92,000 clients worldwide, and operates in the Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) segment, holding a significant portfolio of patents related to the technology.
With the acquisition, DigiCert is doubling down on its strategy of expanding its platform’s capabilities that solve emerging threats for its customers, according to CEO Amit Sinha.
“We believe that email authentication is the next logical step for DigiCert ONE. This strategy has guided our evolution from the world’s largest certificate authority company into a digital trust platform leader,” he said. “Today, the rise of AI and the looming threat of quantum computing against current encryption have made it clear that the future of digital trust must be built on the belief that every digital interaction requires the right level of protection.
“Valimail is a leader in zero trust email authentication, with durable, foundational technology that is essential for securing email interactions at scale.”
Sinha said DigiCert plans to combine Valimail’s DMARC capabilities with its business providing Mark Certificates (MCs) and Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) for its enterprise customers, in a bid to prevent phishing and reinforce consumer trust in its customers’ brand identities.
