Digital trust leaders outperform their peers: research

APAC Enterprises that are effectively implementing digital trust strategies are enjoying higher revenue and employee productivity than their peers, according to the results of a survey published by DigiCert.

The report, which categorises enterprises into digital trust leaders if they are among the top 33% of adopters and laggards if they are among the bottom 33%, found that the gap between the two categories is widening.

In Asia–Pacific, 83% of digital trust leaders report not having compliance issues, compared to 80% among laggards. Similarly, 67% of leaders didn’t experience software supply chain compromises versus 20% of the laggards.

Digital trust leaders also self-report being better placed to confront the imminent threat of quantum computing, with 56% stating that they are prepared for a post-quantum world compared to just 7% among laggards.

Globally, 75% of leaders say they can respond very quickly to an outage, compared to just 59% for laggards. In addition, 0% of leaders report having IoT and device trust compliance issues or software trust issues, compared to 50% and 77% respectively among laggards.

But the report found there is plenty of room for improvement among all cohorts, with only 1% of enterprises describing their digital trust practices as “very mature”.

DigiCert Group Vice President APJ Armando Dacal said the findings demonstrate that organisations in the APAC region are placing a strong focus on digital trust.

“In the Asia–Pacific region, digital trust is not merely a trend but a fundamental requirement in today’s evolving landscape,” he said. “Our survey findings underscore the crucial role of digital trust in driving organisational success, with leaders demonstrating superior performance across key metrics. To thrive in this dynamic environment, enterprises must prioritise digital trust as a strategic imperative.”
