Genetec launches cloud-native physical security tool
Genetec has launched a cloud-native appliance aimed at setting a new standard for physical security.
The Genetec Cloudlink 2210 appliance is designed to support complex, enterprise-scale deployments of cloud-managed physical security solutions. The platform supports multiple workloads including video management, access control and intrusion prevention in a single appliance.
It is built on an open architecture capable of supporting a range of third-party devices including cameras, access control systems and intrusion panels. Cloudlink 2210 supports hundreds of connected devices per appliance and provides up to 240 TB of local storage per unit, making it suited for deployments with high device density and long retention requirements.
Built-in resiliency features include RAID-protected storage, the ability to operate security workloads locally and independent of cloud connectivity, and dual network interfaces to support network isolation when required. The solution can be scaled by adding units as requirements grow without the need to redesign infrastructure.
Genetec product director for unified solutions Christian Chenard Lemire said modern enterprises don’t want to have to choose between innovation and operational certainty.
“With Cloudlink 2210, we’re redefining what cloud-managed physical security looks like at scale by giving organisations the freedom to modernise on their own terms, control long-term costs, and maintain the resiliency and continuity their most critical environments demand,” he said.
