Interactive acquires Slipstream Cyber Security
Australian technology solutions provider Interactive has acquired Slipstream Cyber Security to augment its existing security capabilities.
The purchase, the first cybersecurity acquisition in Interactive’s 35-year history, has allowed Interactive to double its security team to over 60 specialists overnight.
Interactive plans to incorporate Slipstream Cyber Security’s capabilities, including its Australian-based security operations centre, managed detection and response and penetration testing solutions, and Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) capability, into its operations.
Interactive Executive Chairman Brendan Fleiter said the company is doubling down on security in response to Australia reaching a cyber maturity impasse.
“Australian organisations are facing into daily, even hourly, threats to their operations, as well as their peoples’ and customers’ livelihoods. The path to staying secure isn’t as easy as putting a padlock on the front door anymore,” he said.
“For many enterprises the road to cyber resilience is a maze of vendors, skills shortages and ongoing risks and regulation. Our mission is to clear the path for these organisations so they can operate securely, confidently and faster.”
Interactive has been partnered with Slipstream Cyber Security since 2019. Slipstream CEO Brian Smith will take a leading role at Interactive following the merger, Fleiter said.
