Kyndryl unveils quantum safe assessment service

Technology services company Kyndryl has unveiled a quantum safe assessment service to help enterprises prepare for the security threats posed by quantum computing.

The service identifies and analyses cryptographic risk exposure across an organisation’s IT estate and creates a customised transformation roadmap for the transition to quantum‍-‍safe security by introducing post‍-‍quantum cryptography.

The assessment is designed to identify the critical systems and third-party interfaces that are most at risk. These can include payment gateways, customer databases, cloud infrastructure and mainframe systems. These systems are prioritised based on the sensitivity of data and the timeline for their likely exposure to quantum threats.

The assessment also involves creating a comprehensive cryptographic bill of materials to identify all encryption methods protecting data and networks across the enterprise.

Kyndryl will advise organisations on how to define process and adopt technologies capable of enabling quantum-safe security, and how to integrate quantum readiness with the company’s Zero Trust Adoption Framework to strengthen identity, network, endpoint and data protection.

Kyndryl global security and resiliency leader Kris Lovejoy said quantum computing security readiness has now become a pressing strategic imperative.

“Traditional encryption methods are increasingly at risk of being broken by advanced quantum systems, posing a significant threat to data security, regulatory compliance and business continuity,” she said. “Through our Quantum Safe Assessment service, we help customers identify vulnerabilities and build scalable strategies for quantum-safe security so they can operate confidently in the post-quantum era.”
