New Relic upgrades app security testing suite
Observability company New Relic has augmented its New Relic IAST (Interactive Application Security Testing) suite with new capabilities including proof-of-exploit reporting tools.
The upgraded platform now includes the unique ability for developers to reproduce problems and remediate threat vectors before shipping new code.
New dynamic assessment capabilities can pinpoint API calls, method calls and traces with vulnerabilities by simulating real-world attacks.
The solution also includes a new risk exposure and assessment feature for code changes showing potential compared to expected exposure. The application security solution is also uniquely available out of the box in a full consumption model to help customers achieve an instant return on investment.
Finally, the upgraded solution offers instant impact analysis through APM telemetry integrated with vulnerability management.
New Relic Chief Product Officer Manav Kharuna said proof-of-exploit reporting can help engineers free up significant development time by providing instant feedback on security issues during the development cycle.
“Security must be ingrained in the development culture, not just added on. New Relic IAST offers engineering and IT teams the ability to identify real application security risks with the same platform they use to monitor application performance,” he said. “It strengthens DevSecOps by bringing developers and security teams together to write secure code that defends against the threats of tomorrow and promotes a proactive stance on security.
“For well over a decade, the New Relic full-stack observability platform has bridged organisational silos by providing a single, trusted source of truth and unified user workflows — and now New Relic IAST furthers this mission.”
