OAIC calls for early Privacy Awareness Week sign-up
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) is calling for organisations to sign up early for Privacy Awareness Week 2024.
An annual event, Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) promotes and raises awareness of the importance of protecting personal information. It is led by OAIC in partnership with state and territory privacy regulators and the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities members. While it is usually held in May, the dates for PAW 2024 are yet to be confirmed.
OAIC says signing up is a non-financial commitment to promoting good privacy practices and advancing the privacy rights of individuals. PAW supporters have access to a toolkit that contains a range of resources and content to help raise awareness and promote good privacy practices to staff, customers and other stakeholders throughout the week.
Signing your organisation up as a 2024 supporter now means you will be among the first to know the dates and theme for next year and be well positioned to prepare early. The Privacy 101 website, launched for PAW this year, will remain an ongoing privacy resource throughout the year. Interested organisations can sign up using this link.
