3Com has launched an extensible data centre switching platform and a next-generation management platform. The H3C S12500 data centre aggregation and high-end enterprise core switch is built on a modern system architecture that delivers 2.2 billion packets per second (Bpps) of forwarding through a 6.6 Tbps non-blocking fabric, with up to 128 non-blocking 10 Gb or 864 non-blocking gigabit ethernet ports and 50% less power consumption than competing products; a combination that delivers lower total cost of ownership (TCO) in both capex and opex.

Endpoint Encryption 7.0 data encryption

Endpoint Encryption 7.0 provides encryption for desktops, laptops and removable storage devices. This version includes Novell eDirectory client support as well as management capabilities for non-domain clients. It obscures and protects access to disk encryption keys in memory (DRAM), increasing protection against cold boot attacks. The product offers enhanced disk recovery tools to make it easier for administrators to access a machine and set usage rights to further protect confidential information. Encryption of removable media has also been enhanced. The product features support for secure data portability options including user-created self-extracting file archives. User certificates can also be used to control access to encrypted data within a specific group of users.

The Cloud Monitor tracks external conversations about products, services and brands, as they occur on the social web. It tracks both Twitter and YouTube; and support for other social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn is planned for the future. RightNow Enterprise Analytics provides deep analysis on the internal data collected through direct customer interactions.
