Mobile softswitch

Thursday, 11 June, 2009

Huawei has released its latest mobile softswitch solution (MSS) with enhanced capability in network security, maintenance and operating expenses reduction.

The next-generation MSS server is based on industry-standard blade technology, which provides ultra-high capacity, supporting up to 10 million subscribers. This reduces the space requirement by up to 70% and energy consumption by up to 75% compared with the vendor’s previous mobile softswitch.

An innovative intelligent IP operation and maintenance system, the MSS can visualise the IP network condition by providing real-time monitoring, and automatically locate and recover the fault whenever it happens. These products are claimed to save operation and maintenance expenses by up to 40% for operators.

In addition, the cluster-distributed computing network architecture of the MSS allows operators to share network resources rapidly and upgrade the overall network capacity by 30% without any additional investment. Functions such as real-time user data backup and automatic service recovery also raise the reliability rate to 99.9999% for the whole system.
