Equinix expands access to Oracle Cloud in Australia
Interconnection and data centre company Equinix has announced an expanded collaboration with Oracle to provide access to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure through Platform Equinix in Australia and four other continents.
The company has announced a global market expansion in Sydney, São Paulo, Tokyo, Toronto and Zurich aimed at enabling enterprises to privately connect to Oracle Cloud using the Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric (ECX Fabric).
ECX Fabric is an on-demand, SDN-enabled interconnection service that allows customers to rapidly and easily connect to cloud and network providers worldwide.
Equinix is now providing direct access to Oracle FastConnect at its IBX data centre in Sydney. The company also offers private onramps to Oracle FastConnect in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and 31 other global metros.
In a statement, Equinix said the extended partnership with Oracle and rapid global expansion is in response to an eagerness among enterprises to migrate their Oracle workloads to Oracle Cloud.
“Equinix constantly strives to deliver a high-quality user experience for our customers and enable them to connect with the services and applications they need at the digital edge,” Equinix Australia Senior Director for Operations Glenn Udiam stated.
“Our expansion in Sydney demonstrates our commitment to helping businesses in Australia further their digital transformation journeys and we are thrilled to offer our customers with a presence in our local facilities access to the Oracle Cloud via our ECX Fabric.”
