Red Hat adds OpenShift support on Google Cloud Dedicated
Red Hat has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud to cover the introduction of support for Red Hat OpenShift on Google Cloud Dedicated.
Starting from the second half of 2026, joint customers from tightly regulated industries will be able to access the isolated infrastructure and operational independence required to operate OpenShift on Google Cloud Platform while complying with strict national and regional digital sovereignty regulations.
The offering includes built-in GPU support to help customers build, deploy and manage advanced AI workloads while complying with local security mandates and organisational security policies.
Red Hat has also introduced a Lightspeed Agent for Google Cloud to the Google Cloud Marketplace, to help site reliability engineers and IT administrators manage their Red Hat infrastructure on Google Cloud using natural language.
Red Hat VP and GM Mike Barrett said the moves form part of the company’s commitment to taking an ecosystem approach to driving sovereignty. “Digital sovereignty is no longer just about where data resides; it’s about maintaining operational control over technology, strategic flexibility and trust,” he said.
“By collaborating with Google to bring Red Hat OpenShift to Google Cloud Dedicated, we are providing our customers in highly regulated markets with a sovereign-ready foundation for the AI era. This allows them to harness the power of the hybrid cloud while maintaining the operational independence necessary for long-term resilience.”
