ACCC launches Consumer Data Right sandbox
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has launched a new Consumer Data Right sandbox for companies developing the tools required to comply with the CDR legislation.
The CDR sandbox is a hosted environment set up to operate like the actual CDR ecosystem. Participants will be able to set up their own software solutions and communicate with existing mock solutions, all within a secure testing environment.
The sandbox will be open to both data holders regulated under the CDR legislation as well as accredited data recipients. It will accompany the previously developed Conformance Test Suite, which allows participants to test their conformance with the Consumer Data Standards and Consumer Data Right Register design.
The sandbox will provide pre-live development support to assist participants in making their solutions active and in refining their services and products, according to ACCC Commissioner Peter Crone.
“Creating a sandbox to complement our existing mock solutions tools is just one of many steps we are taking to make the process for businesses joining the Consumer Data Right easier and more affordable,” he said.
“The CDR sandbox will also help participants improve the effectiveness of their data sharing offerings. As the CDR develops, it is important that flexible testing options are available for participants wanting to become active in the Consumer Data Right, so that the ecosystem can expand and consumers can have more and more choices.”
