Atlassian introduces a range of new AI capabilities

Atlassian has announced new AI capabilities aimed at enabling new ways of collaboration in the workplace.

The new capabilities include Atlassian Intelligence, a platform that provides professional teams with a virtual teammate in the Jira Service Management platform. The new teammate automates support workflows to save teams time and money.

The platform also supports the ability for team members to ask and receive answers to natural language questions using the company’s institutional knowledge and policies and generate insights using data from multiple sources through Atlassian Analytics.

Meanwhile, employees can use Atlassian Intelligence to generate new content using natural language prompts.

The additional capabilities also include updates to the Confluence platform including new generative AI-enabled features. The updates have introduced two new ways of working, including whiteboards, which enable users to brainstorm ideas using sticky notes, shapes, stamps and other tools, and then transform those ideas into deliverables with the click of a button.

The second addition, Confluence databases, introduces more structured ways for employees to connect and track work in the platform. Databases are structured dynamic tables that help teams connect and organise information including Jira tasks, Confluence pages, owners, due dates and statuses into a single database table.

This table can then be referenced from within the Confluence platform using real-time syncing to ensure teams stay connected with up-to-date information.

New Automation capabilities for the Confluence platform meanwhile enable admins to manage content, organise spaces and notify teams of important updates without manual intervention. Confluence now also supports embedded pages to enable individuals to embed and edit entire Confluence pages in products including Microsoft Teams, Lucid, Miro, Launch Darkly and Invision.
