Cyber 2020 Forum to help shape new cybersecurity strategy
Sixty of Australia’s top cybersecurity minds are set to attend the Cyber 2020 Forum on 29 January to discuss high-level strategies for keeping the government, businesses and families safe online.
The Forum — to be hosted by Edith Cowan University (ECU) — will see cybersecurity leaders from academia, government agencies and industry explore key findings from last year’s consultation on the country’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy and help shape the strategy’s development, according to ECU.
In particular, the event will focus on four key themes, including emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and how best to build cyber skills in the economy, the university said.
“This will set the tone for a series of thought-provoking discussions among leaders of industry, academia and government on how to best place Australia to meet the challenges and reap the benefits of the online environment,” said Department of Home Affairs Secretary Michael Pezzullo, who is expected to deliver the Forum’s keynote address.
