The completion of the acquisition by Tyco Electronics (TE) of ADC Telecommunications, better known as ADC Krone in Australia, has been completed.

Tyco Electronics is backed by strong fiscal 2010 sales of US$12.1 billion, customers in more than 150 countries and approximately 7000 engineers servicing various industry sectors such as automotive; consumer electronics; telecommunications; aerospace, defence and marine; medical; energy; and lighting.

The integration of ADC Krone into TE positions the company as a world leader in broadband connectivity with a combined product portfolio, that includes ADC Krone's innovative network infrastructure equipment and professional high-speed internet, data, video and voice services that will mean stronger end solutions for residential, business, enterprise and government projects.

Tom Lynch, CEO of TE, described the acquisition as a strong strategic move for all markets and said, "With our expanded product offering and strong position in every major geographic region, TE will provide the broad range of products and solutions our customers need to keep pace with the rapidly increasing demand for video and data connectivity anytime and anywhere.”

Maricel Abraham, Marketing Manager at ADC Krone now Tyco Electronics, said, “The integration with TE has been a great success and it’s a positive move for the business, for our customers and for our investors. We still have the same dedication to innovation, quality and performance that we had as ADC Krone; but now, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tyco Electronics, and with TE’s impressive portfolio of products, we look forward to delivering even more to the electrical, data centre, infrastructure management and fibre-optic markets.”
