Qld launches Digital Scorecard for SMEs
The Queensland Government has launched a new online scorecard to help local small and medium businesses check their digital readiness.
The Digital Scorecard is designed to help businesses identify ways to improve their digital capability and competitiveness in the new global digital economy.
Businesses that complete a digital assessment will be able to join targeted workshops aimed at improving digital readiness in areas including website development, social media and the use of mobile and disruptive new technologies.
The scorecard was developed by the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation in collaboration with the Sunshine Coast branch of Regional Development Australia (RDA).
Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy and Minister for Small Business Leeanne Enoch launched the scorecard at the Logan Digital Expo on Wednesday.
“The Digital Scorecard is a great way for business people in Queensland to understand how they can improve their competitiveness in the digital economy,” she said.
“Many of our state’s 414,000 small businesses are already digitally savvy, but there is room for improvement and it’s always good to know where you sit in relation to your peers and competitors — that’s where the Digital Scorecard fits in.”
RDA Sunshine Coast CEO Darrell Edwards added that the scorecard will “help owners take stock of their technology adoption and application, and help them improve their productivity and profitability through technology”.
