Report: Australia's most in-demand skills

Online learning provider Udemy has released its Q1 2022 Workplace Learning Index, revealing the most popular technology and power skills training being leveraged by global online learners.

In 2022 to date, lessons on decentralised applications for blockchain and work efficiency were the leading courses in technology and power skills, respectively. Demand for blockchain-related technology skills such as DApp and Binance has increased 450% compared to Q4 of 2021, while power skills including efficiency (98% increase) and personal success (92% increase) also continue to draw focus from those seeking to sharpen their leadership capabilities.

The report also highlighted country-specific trends in employee learning, including the following skills currently surging in Australia. The percentage figures shown indicate an increase in online course usage over the previous quarter:

  1. Swift (215%)
  2. Data Structures (211%)
  3. iOS Development (197%)
  4. Docker Containers (107%)
  5. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (99%)

The Udemy Workplace Learning Index is published quarterly and identifies the most in-demand skills based upon data generated by users of Udemy Business (the company’s enterprise learning solution). Udemy says it highlights the skills that corporate leaders and employees regard as must-have tools for career growth and differentiation.
