Interactive migrates UCC Coffee to managed SD-WAN
Australian IT service provider Interactive has completed the migration of UCC Coffee’s network to a managed SD-WAN solution.
The deployment under the Business NBN fibre initiative involved transforming UCC Coffee’s network from MPLS to a fully managed SD-WAN solution which is providing speeds of up to 500 Mbps at various sites.
UCC Coffee houses popular Australian coffee brands including Robert Harris, Toby’s Estate, L’affare and Mocopan. The company’s operations span eight sites, including two production and distribution centres in Melbourne and Auckland.
Interactive network expert Andrew Robson said the company works with partners including NBN Co, Cisco, Fortinet, Vocus and Encoo Communications on its network deployments. The Business NBN fibre initiative allows eligible businesses like UCC Coffee the benefit of wholesale pricing discounts and enables regional areas to receive the same pricing available in metro areas.
“NBN and enterprise solutions are acting as a levelling force on the carriage market. It’s no longer a race to the bottom of carriage pricing, it’s now a focus on the value managed services bring when wrapped across the entire technology stack,” he said.
Robson said UCC Coffee’s selection of Interactive as its technology solutions provider for the deployment aligns with the trend identified in Gartner’s latest SASE report, which predicts that by 2025, 50% of new software-defined WAN purchases will be part of a single-vendor secure access service edge (SASE) offering.
“This is a logical lateral expansion into software defined networks — rationalised, application-aware bandwidth, native cloud integration and SASE. Only a trusted technology partner like Interactive that provides end-to-end technology solutions is positioned to solve for this problem,” he said.
