Aculab will release a 2U rackmount chassis version of its GroomerII signalling and media gateway. The 2U chassis of the GroomerII range includes a comprehensive array of signalling and media conversion capabilities that addresses a multitude of service providers’ needs.

The flexible capabilities of GroomerII deliver a powerful tool to manage gateway and signalling functions. Applications delivered by GroomerII include SS7-to-SIP interconnection and routing, E1 to T1 encoding conversions and a full-featured call manager. GroomerII’s built-in routing and deployment proven protocol conversion capabilities enable interoperability across a converging landscape without the need for external softswitches, signalling gateways or media gateway controllers. In addition, the solution can be customised to fit the needs of each customer through consultancy on integration and configuration, installation services, and ongoing maintenance and support. The 2U GroomerII can accommodate 8, 16 or 24 E1/T1 trunks.
