Absolute Security buys UEM experts Syxsense
Absolute Security has acquired endpoint and vulnerability management company Syxsense to enhance its cyber resilience platform.
The acquisition will enable Absolute Security to add endpoint and vulnerability management capabilities to its Absolute Cyber Resilience platform, which is embedded into the firmware of 600 million PCs.
The integration will enable customers to add automated vulnerability and patch management capabilities to ensure that operating systems, applications and security controls remain up to date and fully operational, according to Absolute Security CEO Christy Wyatt.
“With the addition of Syxsense, we can bring a comprehensive set of resilience capabilities to the market. With cyber resilience reimagined, customers can now fix defects and vulnerabilities before the OS runs or applications load, preventing issues from turning into incidents,” she said. “Our unique platform provides a pre-installed safety net that helps ensure compliance, integrity, and recovery, even from widespread incidents involving faulty updates.”
Syxsense was founded in California in 2012, and is best known for its Unified Endpoint Security (UEM) solutions.
The acquisition will allow Absolute Security expand into the UEM and vulnerability management markets, which are expected to be worth a combined US$35 billion ($52 billion) by 2027, Wyatt said. Absolute Security’s existing market of endpoint security is worth an estimated US$40-50 billion.
