Veeam announces integration with Microsoft Sentinel
Veeam has launched an app that provides integration between the Veeam Data Platform and Microsoft’s cloud-native security information and event management platform Microsoft Sentinel.
The Veeam App for Microsoft Sentinel is designed to help organisations more easily detect, investigate and respond to cyberthreats and backup anomalies. Security teams can use the app to monitor and investigate more than 300 Veeam backup and security events, including job failures, suspicious activity and ransomware detections.
Upon detection of suspicious activity, security teams can trigger restores, run malware scans and launch remediation workflows directly from within Microsoft Sentinel, using built-in playbooks.
The app also includes Sentinel-native dashboards to help teams visualise key backup and security data. It is available for no additional cost for Veeam Data Platform Advanced and Premium customers via Microsoft Marketplace and the Microsoft Sentinel Content Hub.
Veeam Chief Revenue Officer John Jester said data resilience is the foundation of modern cybersecurity.
“With our new app for Microsoft Sentinel, data resilience meets security intelligence empowering organisations with instant visibility into backup security events, suspicious activity and ransomware threats,” he said. “Veeam continues to empower SOC teams to act decisively, ensuring data remains safe and recoverable no matter what threats and cyber attacks they face.”
