Cloudera launches private link network
Cloudera has launched a new private link network aimed at addressing critical data security and privacy concerns for organisations in highly regulated industries.
The Cloudera Private Link Network provides secure private network connectivity from customer workloads to the Cloudera Control Plane, enabling data to bypass the public internet. The company says the solution provides a unified, cross-cloud private connectivity service for organisations needing to maintain strict customer privacy, such as those in the healthcare, finance and pharmaceuticals sectors.
The service is designed to enable enterprises to securely manage data-intensive workloads across multiple cloud environments through a single, specialised and secure network.
Cloudera Private Link Network utilises existing cloud provider services such as AWS PrivateLink and Azure Private Link, as well as other network infrastructure such as multi-cloud connectivity, to extend secure data transfer across multiple cloud environments. Users are able to efficiently self-serve and provision services using the Cloudera Command Line Interface.
Cloudera Chief Product Officer Dipto Chakravarty said the solution has been purpose-built to address enterprise privacy and connectivity concerns.
“By offloading the management of Private Link Network to Cloudera, it will both lower TCO for an organisation and free up valuable resources, allowing users to focus on strategic business initiatives,” he said. “By managing data integrity and trustworthiness throughout the architecture, we help enterprises safeguard sensitive customer data.”
Cloudera Australia and New Zealand Field CTO Vini Cardoso added that Australian organisations are already making significant investments in hybrid and multi-cloud environments as they seek to capitalise on generative AI-enabled applications.
“Despite this progress, security remains a critical issue, with data breaches becoming increasingly common,” he said. “Cloudera’s Private Link Network not only addresses data privacy and security challenges but also allows organisations to showcase their commitment to protecting personal data, not just for compliance, but because it’s the right thing to do.”
