Amadeus developing Gen AI travel solutions
Travel technology company Amadeus is working with Microsoft and Accenture to develop generative-AI powered integrations for corporate travellers.
Under the collaboration, Amadeus will work to integrate its travel and expense platform Cytric Easy with Microsoft 365 to develop a travel assistant powered by natural language processing.
Accenture and Avanade are working with Amadeus to develop and pilot the travel assistant, which will align travellers’ preferences with employers’ policies for a more efficient and cost-effective experience.
The AI assistant will leverage Microsoft technologies including GPT models from the Azure Open AI service, as well as Microsoft 365 and Teams.
The integration will also extend to Microsoft 365 Copilot, which seeks to enhance the workplace productivity tool with next-generation AI capabilities. Integration with the Cytric platform will offer corporate travellers the ability to quickly match and book travel itineraries in a single, sophisticated workflow within Microsoft 365 using natural language prompts.
Users will be able to direct the chatbot to make suggestions on the most appropriate travel or itinerary options. The new tools will ultimately aim to make the business travel-booking experience more intuitive, driving both business efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Amadeus Cytric Solutions EVP Rudy Daniello said the new chatbot will offer an enhanced way to book business travel. “When fully realised, business travellers will be able to book trips with even greater ease, saving time,” he said.
