Avaya to acquire videoconferencing vendor Radvision
Avaya has entered into an agreement to acquire Radvision, a provider of videoconferencing and telepresence technologies over IP and wireless networks. The transaction is worth approximately US$230 million.
According to Avaya, the acquisition will allow it to provide an integrated and interoperable suite of high-definition video collaboration products, with the ability to plug and play multiple mobile devices including Apple iPad and Google Android.
As part of the transaction, Radvision shareholders will receive US$11.85 per share. The acquisition is expected to close within approximately 90 days, assuming the satisfaction of agreed-upon closing conditions.
“We believe this transaction will leverage a highly skilled, incredibly talented and experienced workforce ready to deliver video to enterprise customers,” said Kevin Kennedy, president and CEO, Avaya.
