CompTIA and ELEVACAO help students pitch ideas

CompTIA will partner with ELEVACAO Foundation to help students get ‘pitch ready’ for the nationwide Young ICT Explorers competition judging.

The competition, created by SAP, is designed to encourage school students to create their best ICT-related projects. The students compete around Australia, pitching their technology ideas to a panel of judges.

CompTIA’s partnership with ELEVACAO involved the creation of an animated video, which gives students the training they require to perform in the competition. The goal is to help boost the confidence of the students in delivering their pitch, by showing them what to expect on judging day and how they can deliver a winning pitch to the judges.

The video was distributed to all students and schools participating in the competition and shared on social media.

CompTIA supports this worthwhile effort by ELEVACAO to elevate the position of students in the Young ICT Explorers competition, providing them with the resources they need to be successful in their pitch,” said Jim Hamilton, vice-president, member communities at CompTIA.

“This partnership also aligns closely with CompTIA’s efforts in Australia and New Zealand, which are focused on promoting women in IT through programs such as Dream IT and building skills in the industry through the support of Young ICT Explorers.”

Marisa Warren, CEO  and founding director at ELEVACAO, said, “The research tells us that only 3% of tech start-ups are founded by women, yet when funded, they deliver 35% more return on investment than male-led firms.

“ELEVACAO exists to help more women start and grow tech businesses no matter what their age or background, providing them with the confidence and skills to pitch for investor funding. Our goal is to find and empower the next female-founded Atlassian.”
