Eftel completes ClubTelco acquisition
Australian telecommunications provider Eftel has successfully completed its purchase of ClubTelco.
The combined companies turn over more than $1 million a week from their 120,000 active accounts.
According to Eftel CEO Scott Stavretis, the acquisition has been relatively smooth.
“In most mergers and acquisitions within our industry one company’s culture has been allowed to dominate the other, often damaging what the other brings to the table. Fortunately in our case we have companies similar in size coming together and willing to trade strengths,” he said.
Post-acquisition, Eftel will continue to focus on corporate and wholesale services, while ClubTelco will focus on the consumer market.
Eftel is expecting to increase internal sales as well as external acquisitions.
“We are challenging for market share on all fronts - our sales machine is cranking up and we are also lining up acquisition opportunities,” Stavretis said.
