Finalists revealed for Australian Technologies Competition
Eighteen Australian emerging technology companies have been named as finalists in the Australian Technologies Competition (ATC21). In the 11th year of the Competition, leading innovators in energy, smart cities, circular economy, manufacturing, health, food & agritech, mining and engineering, cyber security, disaster & emergency management and social impact are represented in the shortlist. The finalists were selected from 41 semi-finalists, who were all provided access to personal mentoring, a highly rated International Growth Masterclass and a deep-dive growth program.
An independent panel of founders and commercialisation specialists, including previous winners, assessed the semi-finalists on a concise, 10-page business plan. The panel looked for the best technologies and also the best leadership teams and business plans. The winners will be named on 26 October, during an awards ceremony compered by media expert and public speaker, James O’Loghlin.
This year’s finalists provide solutions to many of the challenges that Australia and the planet face. They include systems to predict and manage the impact of climate change and bushfires, new energy solutions, circular economy solutions for food and textiles, telehealth service delivery, protection against password and identity theft, accident prevention in heavy industry using AI and many others.
