Lenovo announces US$1bn AI investment
Lenovo has committed to investing US$1 billion (AU$1.45 billion) over three years to advance AI infrastructure solutions to accelerate the deployment of the technology for businesses worldwide.
The announcement marks the company’s largest AI investment in its history and follows the company hitting a record annual AI infrastructure revenue of over US$2 billion.
Lenovo already has a portfolio of 70 AI-ready and supported products, including AI-optimised edged servers, smart devices and services.
The investment will include an additional US$100 million commitment towards expanding the Lenovo AI Innovator’s program, which provides funding to help bring AI solutions from the lab and into the marketplace.
The program has already helped commercialise over 150 AI-ready solutions created with 45 independent software vendor partners within just one year of its launch.
Lenovo ISG President for Asia-Pacific Sumir Bhatia said the investment shows the company’s “unwavering” commitment to the future of AI.
“With our largest-ever investment in AI-ready infrastructure solutions, we are empowering our customers to overcome deployment complexities and unlock the full potential of AI, even at the edge,” Bhatia said.
“This significant investment not only demonstrates our dedication to being the most trusted partner in our customers’ intelligent transformation journey but also fuels innovation in AI technology. We are proud to stand at the forefront of AI infrastructure, providing transformative services and products that shape the future.”
