Microsoft needs 120 staff for Sydney centre

Microsoft has created 120 new jobs in its Asia Inside Sales Centre, which is located in Sydney.

The establishment of the sales centre is designed to transform and digitise the sales experience for customers.

It will serve customers across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan, and provide support in over nine different languages.

“The new Inside Sales Centre expands upon our significant local investments from recent years, which include two cloud data centre regions offering services for Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365, and our flagship Microsoft Store in Sydney,” Microsoft Australia Managing Director Steven Worrall said.

“Those joining Microsoft Australia in the newly created roles will have the opportunity to develop their career within the company with almost limitless opportunities here and abroad.”

Microsoft is also establishing three Sales Satellites in India, China and Japan to offer a personalised and unique service to customers from these markets. Microsoft’s Asia Inside Sales Centre is the fourth to be opened by Microsoft globally, with others in Dublin, Ireland (serving Europe, the Middle East and Africa); Fargo, USA (serving the US and Canada); and San Jose, Costa Rica (serving Latin America).

“Microsoft’s decision to choose Sydney as one of only four global centres for its Asia Inside Sales Team is great news and recognition of the unique and highly skilled workforce we have here in NSW,” said NSW Industry Minister Niall Blair.

“Sydney is one of the most multicultural cities in the world — more than a third of the population is now born overseas and there are over 200 languages commonly spoken — making it a natural home for Microsoft’s new Asia Inside Sales Centre.”

With recruitment underway, Microsoft aims to have the centre fully operational by mid-2017. While many roles require language capability or previous sales and technical experience, the company is seeking to recruit graduates who have the passion and aptitude necessary for these exciting opportunities. Microsoft offers an extensive array of benefits in addition to a competitive package. Individuals with the relevant skills are being offered the opportunity to enjoy an exciting and rewarding career with one of the world’s leading technology companies.

The WW Inside Sales digital seller roles are designed so candidates benefit from a progressive career path including continuous investments in personalised professional development plans, which include the opportunity to secure additional qualifications and accredited certifications to help them become world-class digital sellers.
