New university CIOs appointed
Two universities have recently appointed new CIOs.
Edith Cowan University has appointed Vito Forte to the role, while Kerrie Campbell will become the new CIO at Flinders University.
Forte joins ECU from Oracle, where he currently holds the position of global key account director. He has previously held the role of CIO at Fortescue Metals Group and CIO at WorleyParsons.
“Vito joins ECU at a critical juncture in our transformation to enhance the digital experience we provide to our 27,000 students, 4000 staff and diverse stakeholders,” said ECU Vice-President (Corporate Services) Scott Henderson.
He replaces outgoing CIO Elizabeth Wilson.
Meanwhile, the CIO role taken by Kerrie Campbell at Flinders is a newly created position to oversee a reshaped and enhanced Information and Digital Services Division.
With almost 20 years’ experience in the UK and Australia, Campbell joins Flinders from The University of Adelaide, where, as Deputy Chief Information Officer and Associate Director Application Services, and acting CIO, she has been pivotal in the introduction of Agile delivery methodologies and the implementation of a new university-wide learning management system.
