RMIT Online launches problem-solving course
RMIT Online has teamed up with Deloitte to launch a new short course aimed at improving Australians’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The six-week Strategic Problem Solving course has the goal of helping to close the enterprise skills gap affecting Australian businesses.
It has been designed for aspiring leaders looking to build strategic capability to access more senior roles, as well as existing leaders seeking to enhance their strategic agility.
The course will break down how to appraise an organisation’s strategy against existing frameworks, develop a problem statement and break it down for organisational issues, and provide recommendations and an associated rationale for a given problem.
RMIT Online Product & Workforce Development Director Julian Stevenson said soft skills such as critical thinking and problem solving are in high demand by employees.
“While there is no question that digital skills are a critical part of Australia’s skills landscape today, they are not the only skills organisations are hunting. The skill set of the future is a hybrid one and as such, we’re here to support individuals and business leaders in building upon their capabilities in problem definition, communications and strategic analysis,” he said.
“Critical thinking and problem solving are some of the most sought-after skills across multiple industries as they allow you to approach problems in a logical way, breaking them down and using creative approaches to coming up with solutions to solve them.”
