Compuware dynaTrace 4.1 application performance management for IBM WebSphere

Monday, 27 February, 2012

Compuware Corporation has announced the release of dynaTrace 4.1, claimed to be the first application performance management (APM) solution to provide full support for IBM WebSphere Message Broker. This latest release includes additional user experience management (UEM) capabilities, enhanced visualisation and integration with Compuware Gomez Real-User Monitoring - Data Center.

dynaTrace 4.1 brings APM to WebSphere environments including WebSphere Message Broker, application servers and portal servers. End-to-end transaction tracing and UEM combine with enhanced visibility to provide development, test and operational insight into WebSphere infrastructures.

With dynaTrace 4.1, WebSphere users can determine, in real time, if messages are flowing correctly, if they have been properly received by the intended recipient services and whether Message Broker is configured to maximise service efficiency. By reducing the amount of time spent isolating and repairing problems, dynaTrace reduces mean time to repair (MTTR) for WebSphere implementations.

Enhanced visibility into third-party website content is provided with images and graphs to display performance data related to content served by content delivery networks (CDNs) and ad-servers. This feature autoconfigures, as part of the dynaTrace dashboard, to convey the performance impact of third-party content on application responsiveness and user experience.

Periodic screenshots of the end-user browser window show what happens when, and in what sequence, the browser renders the locations of web pages. This helps to identify browser issues that cannot be seen from the data centre and speeds up problem resolution. Improved export capabilities and timer-based performance numbers make browser diagnostics a repeatable part of the development process.

Integration with Compuware Gomez Real-User Monitoring - Data Centre provides real-time transaction status in role-specified dashboards across all application tiers. Deep diagnostic capability is available, through a single click, for advanced root cause analysis. This complements existing integration with the Gomez Web Load Testing and Synthetic Monitoring solutions.
