Infor ION software services

Infor ION services are designed for companies of all sizes to enable application integration, business process management and shared data reporting. By automating the most difficult data sharing tasks, it gives mid-market companies the ability to more quickly and easily organise, analyse and collaborate on information from throughout their operations.

The services use open data standards allowing them to securely integrate information from Infor and non-Infor applications.

Desk is an intuitive, browser-based interface used to configure all ION services. Connect is the service responsible for document-based communication and secure sharing of data across all applications on-premise, in the cloud and in hybrid implementations.

Event Management is a business process management service that automatically monitors status of tasks in relation to promised completion or established service-level agreements and alerts users of exceptions.

The Workflow service works in conjunction with Event Management, enabling automated document routing and approvals via workflows that may involve multiple Infor and non-Infor applications.

ION provides support for standard web services and uses a differentiated approach to data sharing; using Document Exchange exchanges complete electronic business documents that include all data associated with a particular business event.

All Infor ION services can be installed by clicking once within a unified installation wizard. Its lightweight design allows services to run on the same server as Infor applications, eliminating the need for additional hardware purchases.

With Desk, IT users as well as end users can monitor and manage their workflow status and document traffic, identify workflow exceptions, monitor key performance indicators and gain visibility into overall business network efficiency.

Ion also provides open integration with a range of Microsoft products including SharePoint 2010, SQL Server and Windows Server.
