Big Switch launches in Australia
Big Switch Networks, a provider of hyperscale networking for data centres, has announced the company’s launch in Australia.
“Australia is the third market where we have formally launched operations and we see an exciting opportunity to simplify networking for Australian enterprises and service providers,” said Douglas Murray, the company’s CEO.
Big Switch will sell in Australia through its global partner, Dell, and local distributor, Newgen Systems.
In a statement, the company said that its technology partnerships with Palo Alto Networks, Red Hat, VMware, F5, Edgecore Networks, FireEye and ExtraHop will enable it to offer Australian customers a broad range of deployment options.
Big Switch has appointed Mario Vecchio as MD for the Asia–Pacific region. Vecchio will be based in Melbourne.
“We’re seeing strong interest in next-generation networking technologies in Australia,” he said.
The company said the APAC region represents more than 15% of its customer pipeline.
