Red Hat, NVIDIA, Palo Alto partner on AI-native telecom

Red Hat says is working with NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks to deliver an integrated, secure foundation for AI-native telecommunications.

The companies are collaborating to develop an optimised architecture designed for AI from the ground up, based on Palo Alto Networks’ security capabilities and Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift AI platforms, running on NVIDIA AI infrastructure.

Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift AI provide an enterprise-grade Kubernetes platform to deploy, manage and govern network functions and AI workloads across core and edge network environments.

The NVIDIA hardware includes NVIDIA RTX Pro and NVIDIA Aerial RAN Computer servers. Additional NVIDIA tools include the NVIDIA BlueField AI data centre platform, NVIDIA DOCA networking software and NVIDIA CoonectX smart adapters.

Taken together, the three companies plan to use the solutions to develop an AI-native telco stack combining cloud-native software, accelerated computing and zero-trust security, that integrates AI lifecycle management and infrastructure into a single platform.

According to Red Hat, telcos will be able to use the joint solution to transition into AI-native service providers and prepare for the deployment of the 6G mobile standard. The solution will also aid the adoption of high-impact AI use cases such as AI-driven RAN optimisation, predictive maintenance, energy efficiency and automated security enforcement.
